How to Fund Your Marketing

Tell them about your life.

 Warts and all.

 That’s what he told me.

But I don’t know if I can be that vulnerable.

 Anymore.

 I mean, I have before.

I have talked about growing up so broke, we were just po-

 We couldn’t afford the  -or.

But I also learned that my Mom got a job making minimum wage at Jefferson Regional Medical Center and made too much to qualify for food stamps.

That let me know the systems were broken.

Which makes me reexamine the systems.

How can I make it better?

How can I change things?

It’s one thing to say the pen is mightier than the sword, but it’s hard to make a difference with either one.

Take Crypto for instance

I’m looking at it like someone who lived through the Dot Com Explosion in the 90’s.

Lots of new start ups and projects and stuff.

A lot of doomsayers about the growth phase of the internet.

Now, it’s second nature.

I think crypto and nft’s will be that way.

A mentor told me to think of it like IP.

Intellectual Property.

What do you want to be around in twenty years?

He-man? GI Joe? Care Bears?

I know, Bored Apes might not seem like something that’s going to be around…

But I can see it as a cartoon on the Cartoon Network at some point.

Probably sooner, rather than later.

Action figures. Comics. The Movie.

Sure, I can hear you scoffing BUT…

I have a first run Matt Groening The Simpsons comic from 1987 signed by the man himself that’s Black and White and printed on copy paper between a glossy 11 x 17 cover.

Like someone made it in their basement (which a small print run did).

That’s the future.

Or a part of it.

Which means I have to learn, and the best way I learn is by doing.

By experimenting and trying and hoping against hope that it works.

And when it doesn’t, heading back to the drawing board and trying again.

I can’t revamp the social safety nets, but I can tell you that 87% of the PPP loans designed to save workers during the shutdown of 2020 went into employers and Corporation pockets and never made it into the economy.

Or that Arkansas got voted high on two lists –

One as one of the most crime ridden state capitol and the other as highest job growth for low wage earners where the Companies that came to the state don’t pay taxes for the next decade.

We believe in welfare.

Just for businesses, not people.

It makes zero sense to me.

The argument is businesses create jobs, and those people pay taxes.

I get it.

I just don’t get the trickle down.  None of us do.

That’s why I think this next wave of Web 3.0 is going to change a lot of things.

In 2012, no one wanted to read ebooks.

In 2022, they are one of the fastest growing segments of inexpensive entertainment.

Netflix used to ship you DVD’s.

Now you stream from them, from Disney, from Hulu and Paramount.

When you bought your house, you went to a Title Company to make sure you could own it.  And paid $1000 for the pleasure.

In five years, that title will exist on the Blockchain and ownership will be transparent and easy to transfer.

It’s not just jpgs and gif’s and art.

It is going to be an adventure.

When I worked in corporate America, I talked a lot about blazing trails and pioneers.

My colleagues liked to point out that pioneers usually got killed blazing that trail.

But if they didn’t forge the path, where would the rest of us be?

That’s life.

Be the change you want to see.

Cheers,

Chris

PS.  A couple of things for you:

I have an advertising opportunity but need a quick cash influx. Anyone loan me $100 for a 10% return by next Sat? (you send me 100, and I’ll pay back 110 on the 29th)

(Amazon pays on the 29th so I’ll have it then, but I need 3 folks for 100 or 1 for 300 by tomorrow.)

I know, sounds crazy, but thought I would ask. READ MORE ABOUT IT HERE

One More Thing about the Jolly Richards project:

I’ve reserved 150 to give way to you guys (once I learn how to mint at low cost). How do you get them? It’s a thank you for my coffee club to show you how much I appreciate you.

PLUS: Jolly Richards get PIECES OF EIGHT (I wrote this years ago) and more that is in the works. My plan is for a long term IP project and the white paper should be up in the next few days.
